Worthy (Trigger Warning)

Have you ever taken a look at your reckless behavior & thought to yourself "Who am I really hurting?" So many people cut, starve themselves, burn themselves, drink or overdose until they pass out just to cope with pain.
These things aren't a laughing matter. It really happens. & every year, every day, every second, people accidentally commit suicide because their level of recklessness just wasn't enough.
"I need to cut more. More blood. More adrenaline. More physical pain to block out the emotional pain."
"I'm eating too much, skipping one meal just isn't enough."
"I need more pills. I'm not high enough to hide from reality."
"I need another shot, I'm still too sober because I care."
Everyday. These are real thoughts that go through real minds. Don't you think it's time we as a society stop shaming people for their behaviors and start helping them find a way to love themselves? If you are someone who uses reckless behaviors to cope, I want you to take a good look in the mirror & ask yourself, "What hurts?" Think of your problems as a tree. You can't just pluck off leaves and expect the tree to die. Cutting it down won't do any good because there will always be a stump. A reminder of what once was there. You need to find the roots, dig it up, & get rid of it. Only then can you plant a seed of happiness. You have to love yourself enough to realize hurting yourself, is just hurting you. Whether you want someone to notice, or are lashing out, whatever your reasons maybe, just.....STOP. Love yourself. Know your worth. I believe in you. STOP LETTING PEOPLE STRIP YOU OF YOUR WORTH. You are beautiful. You are amazing. & just maybe I should start taking my own advice.
I love you.
