I've realizing that when ppl tell you "I'm contemplating suicide." no one ever knows how to respond. It's become so taboo & cliche to gently change the subject. Depression is real.
& it's killing tons of our generation. I just logged off the instagram page of a kid who chronicled his entire journey to killing himself using captions, from his last meal, down to the moment before he drowned himself. I've suddenly found the right words to say. It ALWAYS gets better. If you kill yourself, I'll be distraught out of my mind. Someone ALWAYS cares. You CAN do this. PUSH FORWARD. Little words of encouragement go a long way. Hugs, go a long way. Saying things like "I don't think I can handle losing you." goes a long way. Everyone has some type of potential in them that they are neglecting simply because they are afraid to shine. 9 times out of 10, most ppl just want to know that someone cares. All it takes is a little push in either direction to be the cause of death or the reason it never happened. Encourage one another. Give out love. Love one another profusely. You don't know how many lives you'll be saving in the process. If you are reading this, & you are suicidal, I LOVE YOU. If I didn't I wouldn't be writing this blog entry so urgently. You are an amazing individual. You are beautiful. Fuck society's standards. You are unique. You are an incomparable creature. Life gets hard, FOR EVERYONE. Shit happens. It's how you hold yourself together that determines who you are and where you will go. You are stronger then you can even imagine. Stop letting fear hold you back, & LIVE. What's the worst that can happen? The true determination of self love is how badly you are willing to change the situation you are in. If you even thought to change it by death, you've got to love yourself because you don't want to suffer any longer. Now try something new, something less permanent.
