Can I sing about you?

I mean really sing about you

I mean write an entire song about how you stole my heart

& threatened to step on it every chance you got

Let the world know you were my angel without wings

Tell them all about how you saved my life but you are the reason I'm perpetually dead inside

I know you don't like our personal business getting out

But I thought maybe I could put it in the form of a song and they would never know

They would think it was some cruel interpretation of a broken home

So many would ask questions

Of course interviews would be done

It doesn't matter anyway, the song would be beautifully sung

They'd fall in love with a woman they didn't even know

They'd fall in love with you like I did

They would know of your beauty and the strength you held

They'd misinterpret it but what's a world without enigma

What's a world without you

Who am I without you

For some reason when I think of you

I just want to sing

You are a beautiful melody surrounding my heart

You are the only thing that keeps it warm at night
